Avinash Maniram, M. Sc

Avinash Maniram has over 15 years of group benefits and related industry experience.  He consults on group benefits issues to boards of trustees of multi-employer and negotiated cost health and welfare plans. Avinash has particular expertise in the design, funding and pricing of group benefits in a negotiated contribution environment. He also  utilizes hour bank projection models which allow clients to model the projected future impact of changes to their benefit programs.

Avinash has been with PBI from its inception in February 2008. From 1998 to 2008, he worked with Watson Wyatt Worldwide and prior to that worked with a major Canadian insurance company in the corporate actuarial area.

Avinash has a Bachelor of Science (Honours), with a major in Actuarial and Management Sciences from the University of Manitoba where he also completed a Masters degree in Actuarial Mathematics.  He has also served on the faculty of the Actuarial Sciences department at Simon Fraser University.

Avinash is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and is a frequent speaker on health and welfare topics.
