Neil Ramsden
Neil Ramsden, B. Sc. FSA, FCIA
Neil Ramsden has over 30 years of pension consulting experience and has consulted to a wide variety of clients covering pension plan design, implementation and all aspects of ongoing plan operation. He has worked with multiemployer pension plans for over 15 years, and exclusively for the last 10 years. Neil has extensive experience using asset/liability modelling techniques to establish appropriate investment policies, and is familiar with a wide range of alternative investments suitable for pension plans. He consults to some of the largest pension plans in Western Canada assisting them with appropriately managing the funding and investment risks faced by their plans, as well as providing advice with regard to plan design and administration.
Neil is a founder and Vice President of PBI Actuarial Consultants and works in Vancouver BC. Prior to 2008, Neil worked with Watson Wyatt Worldwide as well as another international human resources consulting firm where he held a number of senior consulting roles. Neil holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Exeter, graduating in 1973. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries, having become fully qualified in 1987. Neil is also a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
