Sonia Massicotte, LL.B.
Sonia Massicotte is a lawyer and consultant with PBI, specializing in pension benefits and investment related issues. She has 11 years of industry experience and consults to all PBI clients when needed on the various legal aspects related to pension and employee benefits, such as pension governance, drafting text and plan amendments, compliance of pension plans with current legislation, issues related to surplus assets and their use as well as counsels to clients in the context of the daily administration of pension plans.
In addition to other internal responsibilities, Sonia is in charge of research for PBI.
Sonia joined PBI in April 2008. Previously, she worked with Watson Wyatt Worldwide for approximately 7 years.
She completed a Bachelor degree in law, at the University of Montréal and she has been a Member of the Quebec Bar since 2001.
Sonia is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP) and the Canadian Pension and Benefits Institute (CPBI) and the Multiemployer Benefit Plan Council of Canada (MEBCO) and she is a frequent speaker at industry events (namely but not limited to IFEBP and CPBI).
