Tony Williams
Tony Williams, B. Sc. (Honours), FSA, FCIA
Tony Williams has over 34 years of pension, investment and benefits industry experience. He has provided consulting advice to many prominent organizations in the private sector and public sector across Canada. He specializes in actuarial and investment consulting for retirement plans and trust funds, including plan funding, governance, investment policy development, risk modeling, implementation of investment management structures, and fund monitoring.
Tony has been President of PBI Actuarial Consultants since PBI was formed in February 2008. From 2003 until PBI was formed, he was Retirement Practice Leader, Western Canada with Watson Wyatt Worldwide. From 1984 until 2003 he held senior actuarial consulting and management positions with several major international human resource consulting firms in their Calgary and Toronto offices. Between 1977 and 1984, he worked in Winnipeg for a life insurance company and a regional actuarial consulting firm.
Tony holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Actuarial Mathematics from the University of Manitoba, graduating in 1977. He is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries and a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries and became fully qualified in 1985. He is a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Planss (IFEBP) and is Vice Chair of the Canadian Institute of Actuaries (CIA) Committee on Investment Practice as well as a member of the CIA Pension Advisory Task Force. He has been an Instructor in pension and investment issues for the IFEBP ATMS and for SHARE.
Tony is a frequent speaker at industry seminars and conferences on pension and investment issues with organizations including the IFEBP, CIA, CPBI, ACPM, regional CFA Chapters, and SHARE.
